Peak Performance Isn’t About Doing More – It’s About Being More
Aug 21, 2025You’re on the top of your game, but there’s a trap: being busy isn’t the same as being effective. Peak performance isn’t about filling every hour—it’s about showing up fully, mentally and physically, for the work that matters.
Tips for “Being More”:
- Quick Daily Check-In: Journal. Write down your thoughts somewhere, whether on paper or on your phone. Get the junk out of your head so you know what to do with it. This can start with the previous day’s activities, what your day/week ahead looks like, what you’re currently grateful for, how you feel mentally/physically, goals, and before you know it–you’ll be writing away without much prompting needed every day. This also helps you revisit items later if you work with a coach and have something specific you wanted to talk about. Many times, we have something that comes up but we forget when we get to our 1:1 session the details, or exactly how we were feeling at that moment. A journal is a great way to keep your thoughts organized.
- Movement: Your body needs to move. You also need time for yourself to reset, recharge, and recalibrate. You cannot give 100% to yourself, your relationships, and your job if you do not take care of your body. It is the most valuable thing you own. I recommend yoga to my clients because it provides movement, breathwork, and mobility–you will become more present, mindful, and operate from responsiveness instead of reactivity.
- End-of-Day Reflection: Evaluate what truly moved the needle, not just what you did.
The most effective leaders don’t hustle more—they operate from presence and clarity.
